Two men were arrested Wednesday in Henry County after they robbed someone during what was thought to be a cellphone deal, police said.

Justyn Branden Vaughn, 20, of McDonough, and Deandre Christopher Davis, 20, of Hampton, have been charged with armed robbery, police spokesman Capt. Joey Smith said.

After giving one suspect cash in the private purchase deal, the victim realized the phone was actually a display item, Smith said. When the suspects were confronted, one of them showed the victim a handgun.

The suspects drove away in a black Camaro, Smith said. However, the victim got the tag number, and police and Henry County sheriff’s deputies saw the car and conducted a traffic stop a few miles from the initial location.

Guns and the victim’s cash were inside the Camaro, Smith said.
