Because of a motor vehicle theft investigation, police obtained a cell phone in a stolen car. When officers obtained a warrant for the cell phone to determine it’s owner, they didn’t expect to find what they did.
Gwinnett County police said they found child pornography on the phone, and it ended up leading to a man’s arrest, according to an incident report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Brad Duckett, 38, of Dacula, was charged with child molestation and possessing images of sexually explicit conduct by a minor on April 17, the report said.
The stolen vehicle didn’t belong to Duckett, according to an incident report on the motor vehicle theft. That investigation was for a missing truck owned by Paul Hennelly, which was stolen in March, the report said.
Duckett hasn’t been charged with vehicle theft, so it’s unclear who originally stole Hennelly’s truck or how it was found by police.
Duckett is currently in the Gwinnett County Jail and was denied bond, according to jail records.
