Carrollton man gets 438 years in prison for raping 2 children in Alabama

A man from Carrollton was sentenced Wednesday to 438 years in prison for "the most disturbing child sexual assaults" prosecutors in Morgan County, Ala., said they've seen, according to AL.com.

Michael William Lesher, 53, was convicted in March for raping, sodomizing and sexually abusing two children when they lived in Alabama about 12 years ago, the newspaper reported. The children were family members.

He was convicted of two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sodomy, two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of incest, AL.com reported.

His wife, 40-year-old Lisa Lesher, also faces charges in connection with the case, the newspaper reported. Her case is pending, but she’s charged with first-degree sodomy by forcible compulsion, second-degree sodomy, sexual torture and first-degree sexual abuse.

The couple was arrested in Carroll County on Oct. 30, 2017 by the U.S. Marshals Service, the newspaper reported at the time.
