Two people were struck during a shootout Monday between two men, DeKalb County police spokesman Maj. Stephen Fore said.

A 22-year-old man was hit in the leg Monday and a 54-year-old woman was also shot during the incident, Fore said.

The shooting happened about 11:10 a.m. outside a Metro PCS store along the 4900 block of Snapfinger Woods Drive.

“It appears two males were shooting at each other and the two people struck were innocent bystanders,” Fore said.

The men who fired the shots left the scene.

The victims were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, Fore said. They are in serious, but stable condition, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Shell casings were spread across the strip mall where the shooting occurred, Channel 2 reported, after witnesses say two men drove to the business, got out of a car and started shooting. One of the shooters was seen running to an apartment complex across the street, the news station reported.

Fore told Channel 2 there is no evidence that any of the suspects were shot.

No other details were released.
