Two brothers have been arrested in connection with the death of a man found with multiple gunshot wounds in northeast Atlanta, police said.

Yordanos Warner, 31, and Yohannes Warner, 37, were initially taken into custody as persons of interest in the shooting that killed Najee Batchelor, 26, of Decatur.

The brothers were later arrested on murder charges after they were identified as the shooters, Sgt. John Chafee said.

Batchelor was dead when officers arrived on the scene in the 2100 block of Faulkner Road about 2 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

Channel 2's Lauren Pozen reports.

“The preliminary investigation indicates the victim and suspects became involved in a verbal altercation that escalated to the victim being shot,” Chafee said.

The brothers were taken to the Fulton County jail.
