A Brookhaven man was arrested on child molestation charges after investigators said he had sexually explicit conversations with someone he thought was a minor.

The Troup County Sheriff’s Office said it took 30-year-old Rodney Wayne Beasley III into custody after he communicated with one of their investigators, thinking it was a young boy.

A Troup investigator began looking into Beasley on Tuesday, the agency said in a news release. The investigator is a member of the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The sheriff’s office said Beasley sent explicit photos during the conversations with the investigator. He was arrested Friday at a location in Dunwoody.

Beasley was booked into the Troup County Jail, where he remains with no bond. He is charged with two counts of child exploitation and one count of criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation.
