Alpharetta police confirmed Wednesday that murder-suicide was the case after two women were found shot Monday in a hotel room.

Police were called to the Homewood Suites on Davis Drive near Mansell Road after management said the cleaning crew couldn’t get in, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Two women, identified as Ruth Reissiger, 61, of Foley, Ala., and her daughter, Elizabeth Reissiger, 38, of Dacula, were found with gunshot wounds, police spokesman George Gordon said Tuesday.

One was dead at the scene, and the other was taken to WellStar North Fulton Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Gordon said the mother killed the daughter, who was severely mentally impaired, and then took her own life.
