A 17-year-old died after getting shot multiple times in the abdomen, leg and head near Doraville on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The shooting happened in the gazebo area of the Foxwood apartment complex off McElroy Road about 3:15 p.m., DeKalb police Sgt. J.D. Spencer told AJC.com. The shooting victim, Gerardo Cabrera-Perez, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

“We’re trying to determine a motive right now,” Sgt. Adam Quigley told Channel 2 Action News. “We have detectives interviewing witnesses, and they are trying to identify what males our victim was with.”
