“He was there with his friends,” his father, Rick Whitehead, told Channel 2 Action News. “Everyone was having a good time, and then out of nowhere, all of a sudden, there was a bunch of shooting.”

Revery is a nightclub where customers can wear 3D glasses and play virtual reality games. Police said there was some type of physical altercation near the bar before gunfire broke out about 2 a.m.

Rick Whitehead said his son, who has a 2-year-old daughter, was shot in the chest and head. He underwent two surgeries last month and was last listed in critical condition at WellStar Atlanta Medical Center.

Channel's Christian Jennings reports.

It wasn’t clear Friday morning if Whitehead was released from the hospital.
