Student hit by car on way to graduation practice

A student on his way to graduation practice at Jonesboro High School was hit by a car Monday morning, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The student, identified as Michael Taylor by Channel 2, was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with minor injuries, according to the news station. His brother told Channel 2 he was released from the hospital Monday afternoon.

Taylor was in a crosswalk when he was hit.

The driver, who was not identified, remained on the scene, Clayton County police spokeswoman Marcena Davis said.

The investigation is ongoing.
