Authorities are searching for a man who allegedly shot at a woman police say cut in front of him on I-20 West in DeKalb County.

The suspect and victim were merging onto the interstate from the Columbia Drive exit when the woman passed him in her Nissan Altima, DeKalb police Lt. Lonzy Robertson said.

“The suspect became irate and pulled around the victim and fired into the victim's driver-side window,” he said.

Police said the woman, 24, was likely struck by the shattered glass. She was alert at the scene but taken to an area hospital.

A female front-seat passenger was not injured.

Robertson said the man was last seen driving on I-20 West. He is described as in his 50s with a gray beard and was driving an unknown model sedan.

The shooting closed lanes on the interstate for an hour.

No other details were released.
