Police are investigating a double shooting in southwest Atlanta on Monday night.

Just after 9:20 p.m., officers responded to Rogers Avenue and Cascade Avenue, where a shooting victim was found at each location, Atlanta police said. Investigators determined both people were injured in a nearby drive-by shooting.

The incident began in the 600 block of Cascade Avenue, where a vehicle approached the two people in a parking lot, police said. A suspect fired multiple shots from the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The two people were both shot in the lower back area, police said. One ran to the 700 block of Cascade Avenue, while the other was found in the 1500 block of Rogers Avenue.

Both people, whose names were not provided, were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where they were described as stable by police.

A suspect has not been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
