Douglasville police are investigating after someone was shot and killed Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched to a person shot call near Oak Street about 5:30 p.m., Douglasville police said in a tweet. One person was killed in the shooting.

It’s unclear who was killed or what led to the shooting, but detectives are at the scene trying to gather more information. Two elementary schools, Eastside and Burnett, are in the area.
