Police investigating after person shot, killed in Douglasville

Douglasville police are investigating after someone was shot and killed Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched to a person shot call near Oak Street about 5:30 p.m., Douglasville police said in a tweet. One person was killed in the shooting.

Officers have responded to a person shot in the area of Oak St in Douglasville. One individual is deceased. Detectives and officers are on scene conducting an investigation into the circumstances. More information will be released when possible. 2/14/20, 5:30pm.

It’s unclear who was killed or what led to the shooting, but detectives are at the scene trying to gather more information. Two elementary schools, Eastside and Burnett, are in the area.
