A week after a 3-year-old was found in a hot car, his mother now faces murder charges in his death, Fulton County police confirmed Tuesday night.

Lillian Stone, 25, remains in the Fulton County jail without bond, according to jail records. She was arrested Oct. 31 after her child was found in a hot car in the 6800 block of Smoke Ridge Drive in the city of South Fulton, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

He had been in the car for three hours and was found by a concerned citizen, who called 911.

The child was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He died Saturday, Fulton County police Det. Partrena Smith said.

The high was 72 degrees in Atlanta that day, according to Channel 2. It was not clear how hot it was inside the vehicle.
