A Cobb County car dealership employee was injured Monday afternoon on his way to refueling a Mercedes-Benz.

While the Mercedes-Benz of Marietta employee was stopped in traffic on Cobb Parkway, two men pulled up in a white Chrysler 200 with dark-tinted windows at the intersection of Wylie Road, Cobb police Officer Jared Rakestraw said.

The men fired two shots that struck the Mercedes, Rakestraw confirmed. The victim was not hit but suffered injuries due to broken glass.

The driver told Channel 2 Action News the men may have been trying to carjack him.

The visibly shaken employee, who did not want to give his name, was treated by paramedics on the scene, the news station reported.
