The search continues in Clayton County for a man who pointed a gun at a deputy after a vehicle pursuit.

The public was advised to avoid Godby Road and Jones Circle while authorities with the county sheriff’s office and police department searched the area.

There were about 20 units onsite, including K-9s, at about 6:30 p.m., according to Channel 2 Action News.

“All residents and businesses in this area should lock their doors and dial 911 immediately if they spot” the man, the sheriff’s office said just before 2 p.m. Monday.

The man, who has short hair and multiple tattoos on his body and face, was last seen wearing multicolored sweatpants and a green satchel containing the gun. He did not have on shoes, according to authorities.

The sheriff’s office released a photo of the man driving away while being chased by authorities. He ditched the bike and ran away, according to Channel 2.

Police believe he could be hiding in the woods off Godby Road.
