DeKalb County police have arrested a 54-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed his stepson Friday afternoon.

Demeriex Bownam is accused in the homicide of 25-year-old Frederick White, who was killed inside his home in the 4200 block of Rue Antoinette Road in unincorporated Stone Mountain, DeKalb police said in a news release.

Bownam, who police considered “armed and dangerous,” disappeared after the shooting. He was taken into custody Sunday and was transported to the DeKalb jail.
