Man shot, killed in SW Atlanta

A man was fatally shot in southwest Atlanta on Tuesday evening, police said.

Officers responded to the 600 block of University Avenue about 7:15 p.m. to find a man who had been shot and killed, Atlanta police said. Homicide investigators were called to the scene.

No other details on the shooting investigation have been released.

The officers were on patrol when they spotted the car straddling the tracks on Paces Ferry Road near downtown Vinings.
