Gwinnett County police are investigating the shooting death of a 21-year-old man after they were called to a site in unincorporated Lilburn.
About 3:40 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of Darling Court off Killian Hill Road, Sgt. Jake Smith said.
Police found a passenger car in the parking lot of a day care facility, Smith said. The driver, a woman, said the man had been shot. The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified by police as Curtis Oldham of Lawrenceville.
It’s likely that the shooting occurred elsewhere and that the parking lot was a convenient place for the driver to seek help for the victim, Smith said.
“The possibility this shooting is related to a drug deal is also under investigation,” Smith said.
The victim’s identity was not released, pending notification of next of kin. Further details were not available.
