A student at Tucker High School was arrested Monday in connection with a shooting that left a fellow teenager dead at an apartment complex in Clarkston, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Police arrested Ozell Craft, 17, at the DeKalb County high school, the news station reported.

Clarkston police said the homicide happened at the Springdale Glen Apartment Homes on Brockett Trail.

Investigators arrived at the complex about 9:30 a.m. and found the teen, identified as 19-year-old Marcus Sims, dead in the parking lot. He had multiple gunshot wounds, Channel 2 reported.

Police said Sims and Craft knew each other. The motive of the shooting is not known and the murder weapon has not been found, Channel 2 reported. A witness helped police identify Craft.

Craft was taken into custody by a school resource officer, Channel 2 reported.

“They went ahead and isolated the suspect and secured him away from anybody else to reduce any risk at the school,” Clarkston police spokesman Lt. Harry Hess said.

In a statement, a DeKalb County Schools spokesman said the district “was made aware of a crime by Clarkston Police Department allegedly involving a Tucker High School student. DCSD is cooperating with Clarkston Police Department during their investigation.”

Clarkston police called the GBI to aid in the investigation, Channel 2 reported.
