The man was taken to Atlanta Medical Center South, where he died from his injuries, Atlanta police Officer Jarius Daugherty said.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as 40-year-old Mandarius Humphrey of Decatur.

“Officers were also able to ascertain that there was a verbal altercation between the victim and the suspect shortly before the stabbing,” Daugherty said.

Atlanta police arrested 41-year-old Tajuana Bailey, who Channel 2 identified as the victim’s sister-in-law. She faces charges of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Bailey waived her first court appearance Friday and was denied bond.

DeKalb County officials confirmed Humphrey worked for the county on and off since June 1998. He had been a sanitation worker with the county since March 2015, DeKalb County spokesman Quinn Hudson told AJC.com.
