One person was killed and another person was injured in a shooting Monday in northwest Atlanta.

The man killed, who was in his early 20s, ran from the scene before collapsing in the street, Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News.

Witnesses told the television station that several kids were in the area waiting on a school bus at the time of the shooting, which occurred about 8:30 a.m.

The injured person, in his late 20s, was taken to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery, Channel 2 reported.

No other injuries were reported.

A crew was towing a white Audi SUV with at least six bullet holes and broken windows from the scene just before 11:30 a.m., Channel 2 reported.

Police told the television station at least two people were firing shots, but officers are not sure if the people shot were firing at each other.
