A Clayton County homeowner shot and killed an 18-year-old who broke into his home overnight, police said.
Officers were called to the residence in the 9000 block of Jenni Circle just before 3 a.m. Friday after a man called 911 and reported shooting an intruder, according to Clayton County police spokesman Officer David Portis.

Upon arrival, police found Jayven Jackson lying at the bottom of the stairs with gunshot wounds, authorities said. Jackson, who lived in Paulding County, died on his way to the hospital.
