The search for a Georgia man suspected of killing his wife and stabbing two others ended Tuesday afternoon in Toccoa with an officer-involved shooting.

Keton Deshaun Hall, 48, was taken into custody after being shot once by police near an abandoned factory on West Spring Street, the GBI said Wednesday.

Hall had evaded authorities since Monday night, when a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of murder, two counts of aggravated assault and kidnapping.

Two Toccoa officers responded to West Spring Street after someone recognized Hall and called 911, the GBI said. When the officers arrived, Hall was armed with a knife and did not comply with their commands to drop the weapon, authorities said.

One of the officers fired his gun twice, striking Hall once. He was taken to the hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

Neither officer was injured in the encounter, authorities said.

The search for Hall began Monday evening when Toccoa police responded to a 911 call of a stabbing and kidnapping at a home on Mill Street shortly after 9 p.m., GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles said in a news release. At the scene, police found two people injured and one woman missing.

The missing person was Hall’s wife, Patricia Hall. The 49-year-old was later found dead in the 300 block of Franklin Street, police said. Her body will be taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Those injured were 66-year-old Nancy Johnson and 64-year-old Robert Maxwell. Both were taken to a hospital. Maxwell is in critical condition, Miles said.

Tuesday’s officer-involved shooting is the 63rd such investigation the agency has opened this year and the fifth since last Monday.
