‘No immediate trauma’ to body found in creek at Jackson County park, GBI says

A body was found in a creek at a Jackson County park around noon Thursday, prompting an investigation by the sheriff’s office and GBI.
A Sell’s Mills Park visitor called 911 after finding a man’s body in a creak near Jackson Trail Road, the GBI said in a news release.
An autopsy revealed “no immediate trauma,” the agency said Friday. The GBI crime lab is still working to positively identify the man and does not expect to do so until next week.

The West Jackson Fire Department closed the park Thursday during an investigation, the department said in a Facebook post.
