A man wanted by the FBI and Atlanta police on multiple felony charges was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Paulding County, officials said.

FBI agents and Atlanta police officers arrested Demonte Savalas Mitchell about 1 p.m. at a residence in the 400 block of Ivy Chase Loop in Dallas, FBI spokesman Stephen Emmett said in a news release.

Mitchell allegedly forced his way into a house on Marietta Street in Atlanta on Jan. 29 and sexually assaulted a juvenile girl.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution does not identify victims of sexual assault.

The girl told Atlanta police she awoke to Mitchell standing with a handgun in her bedroom. He demanded valuables and the combination to a safe, according to a police report.

A second man in the house may have been removing items as he went in and out of the house often, she told police.

The 32-year-old struck the girl in the back of her head with the gun, the report states. Then he put her in a choke hold and threatened to rape her.

Mitchell is charged with armed robbery, home invasion, aggravated assault, aggravated sodomy, attempted rape, false imprisonment and a misdemeanor charge of battery with substantial physical harm.
