Friend charged in deadly stabbing at Gwinnett hotel

A man is charged with felony murder after he confessed to stabbing his friend to death at a Gwinnett County hotel, police said.

Donald Steele, 20, of Duluth, was arrested late Tuesday in connection with the incident, according to jail records.

Norcross police said Steele fatally stabbed a man during a drug deal at the Guest Inn and Suites on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Channel 2 Action News reported. The victim’s name has not been released.

In his confession, police said Steele called the man “a friend,” according to the news station.

Steele was booked into the county jail, where he remains without bond.
