ORIGINAL STORY: A manhunt continues after two people were killed and another was injured in a shooting at a Chattooga County home Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The GBI obtained arrest warrants for James Mauldin, 38, of Bremen, who the agency said committed the triple shooting at a residence on Ga. 100 near the Floyd County line about 8 a.m.

Joe Edward Brown, 35, and Linda Mae Everett, 61, were the two killed during the shooting, Sheriff Mark Schrader told Channel 2 Action News. He said 46-year-old Daryl Lee Marsh is the third shooting victim, who has been hospitalized. Marsh’s condition has not been released.

Mauldin is believed to be in a stolen 2003 Honda Civic with the Georgia tag “RMR8244,” the GBI said in a tweet. Schrader told Channel 2 he had “been sighted near Birmingham, Alabama.”

Mauldin was known to police and has been in the county jail several times in recent years, Channel 2 reported.
