Arrest made in deadly Bartow shooting
An arrest has been made in a Bartow County shooting that left one man dead and another hospitalized, authorities said.
Justin Lee Wade, 27, of Rome, was arrested just after 8 p.m. by the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release.
The shooting happened on Franklin Drive off Cassville Road, authorities said. One man was fatally shot outside of a residence and the other man was shot and ran from the scene before being taken to an area trauma center for emergency treatment.
Wade was arrested in Floyd County and will be transferred to the Bartow County Jail for booking, the release said. He’s been charged with murder and aggravated assault.
There is an ongoing investigation into what led up to the shooting.
