One man is dead and another was injured after they were shot Wednesday while sitting in a parked car on a residential street in Riverdale, police said.

The men were in a blue Hyundai Accent in the 300 block of  Ridge Trail when “an unknown number of suspects”  approached and opened fire, Capt. Nicole Rabel said.

One victim, 25-year-old Dezrick Morgan, died from his injuries and the other man, 20-year-old Quintavious Ruffin, was injured. He since has been released from the hospital, Rabel said Thursday.

Police don’t know what sparked the shooting, but Rabel said the incident “appears to be isolated.”

Neighbors said they heard about four to five shots. Bullet holes were visible in the right passenger door of the car.
