JUST IN: Police ID woman, 2 teens killed after train collides with car

UPDATE [9:30 a.m. Tuesday]: Police identified the woman and two teenage girls killed Monday in a crash with a train in South Fulton. They are Lidonda Carter, 40, Santania McDowell, 18, and Mackenzie Mack, 16.

ORIGINAL STORY: Three women are dead after a CSX train crashed into a car in South Fulton, police Lt. Derrick Rogers said in an emailed statement.

The crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Buffington Road and Roosevelt Highway.

One person suffered minor injuries, according to a South Fulton Fire and Rescue Department spokesman. Rogers said that person was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

“CSX appreciates the swift response by local emergency personnel and extends its thoughts to those impacted by this tragic event,” a spokesman for the company said in a statement.
