Two people were wounded Friday morning in a shootout outside a southwest Atlanta convenience store and one stumbled into a McDonald’s for help, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Officers responded to two scenes, one on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Peyton Place and another on Hamilton E. Holmes and Martin Luther King Jr. drives, Atlanta police Officer Stephanie Brown told the news station.

The scenes “appear to be related,” she said. “We are still gathering details.”

A preliminary investigation indicates two people shot each other in a car shortly after leaving a convenience store. One was shot in the head, according to Channel 2. The other was shot in his lower back.

Both men were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

The car was towed from the scene about noon.
