The alleged gunman and suspected getaway driver in a convenience store shooting in Adairsville were arrested Tuesday in connection with the incident.
Michael Sean Conner, 25, of Sparta, Tenn., was arrested about 7 a.m. Monday after carjacking two men at a rest area off I-24 and leading authorities on a car chase in Marion County, Tenn., the GBI said in a news release.
Destany Marie Schubert, 20, was arrested at her LaFayette home and is being held in the Bartow County jail, Adairsville police said in a Facebook post.
Conner is accused of shooting Jonathan Michael Meyer, 30, of Clearwater, Fla., at a QuikTrip on Ga. 140 about 3:35 a.m. Monday, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. Meyer was flown to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga in critical condition.
He was stable Tuesday, Adairsville police Capt. Louis Dean told The AJC.
“Right now, we’re just waiting to hear of any changes in his condition,” Dean said.

After the shooting, Conner got into a gold Toyota Camry driven by Schubert, authorities said. The car was recovered at a home in Ringgold.
A third suspect, Kristy Lynn Davis, 36, of Summerville, is still at large.
Davis and Schubert were identified through social media posts, according to the GBI.
The suspects each face a charge of aggravated assault.
Schubert and Davis face additional charges of party to a crime aggravated battery, party to a crime criminal attempt to commit armed robbery and party to a crime aggravated assault discharging a firearm within a vehicle towards a person, police said in a Facebook post.
Conner faces additional charges of aggravated battery, criminal attempt to commit armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and aggravated assault discharging a firearm within a vehicle towards a person, police said in a Facebook post.
