Authorities released a sketch Tuesday of a man accused of trying to abduct a 12-year-old boy in Cherokee County.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person call March 26 on Flint Drive near Woodstock. The boy said a man in a black Dodge pickup truck approached him when he got off the school bus and told him to get in the truck so he could take him to see his father in the hospital, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department said in a news release. The boy told the man that he needed to talk to his mother first, then ran home. The suspect left the area.

On Tuesday, the boy described the suspect to a GBI forensic sketch artist, saying he was a middle-aged, skinny, white man with brown eyes and a scruffy, gray beard. He was wearing a tan desert camouflage hat and a blue shirt with a pocket on the upper, right-hand side.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident should call 911.
