Two men have been arrested in connection with a July 4 double shooting that left a 19-year-old dead and another person injured in Rockdale County, deputies said.
Olufemi Emmanuel Akporido, 19, and Justin Nash Coddington, 20, are charged in the murder of Aaron Quintavious Huff, Rockdale County Deputy Lee Thomas said in a news release.
Akporido was arrested July 5 after leading deputies on a brief chase that ended when his vehicle flipped on Mall Parkway, authorities said. Coddington was arrested Wednesday afternoon by U.S. Marshals in Stockbridge.
The second shooting victim, who has not been identified, remains hospitalized, Thomas said.
Deputies responded to a home south of Conyers in the the 3500 block of Tiffany Drive about 3:30 p.m. July 4. They found Huff dead and a second victim injured, a Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office spokesman previously said.
Police did not release details about what led to the shooting.
Both Akporido and Coddington are charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony and probation violation, jail records show. Coddington is also charged with obstruction.
Both men remain held at the Rockdale County jail without bond.
