3 arrested in Carroll County shooting that killed woman, put kids in danger

Three people have been arrested in a weekend double shooting in Carroll County that killed a woman and put children in danger, authorities said.
The two victims, a man and a woman in their 20s, were shot early Sunday inside their home in the area of Twin Oaks Drive. Three children were at home at the time, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
The man and woman were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The woman, whose name was not released, later died at the hospital, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators on Tuesday announced three arrests in the case. Bonnie Lee Bass, 25, Jonathan Tyler Gaddy, 24, and Christopher Wayne McPherson, 24, are each facing two counts of aggravated assault.
McPherson, who is accused of firing the gun, was also charged with felony murder, a third count of aggravated assault and three counts of cruelty to children. Gaddy faces an additional two counts of probation violation.
“Witnesses were able to provide several names of suspects involved and those individuals were located and arrested,” sheriff’s Investigator Ashley Hulsey said in a news release.
It is unknown what prompted the shooting.
