Atlanta police have made an arrest in a fatal shooting two months ago in southeast Atlanta.
Zachary Deandelo Hopkins, 23, has been charged with felony murder in the death of 51-year-old Patrick Angell of Decatur, police spokesman Sgt. John Chafee said in a news release. Hopkins was arrested Monday and taken to the Fulton County jail.
Authorities were called to the 1600 block of Richmond Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. on July 24 to respond to a report of a person shot.
They found Angell lying on the grass with a gunshot to the back, according to the police incident report. He was dead at the scene. It’s unclear what led to the shooting.
No other information was released.
