A month after two men were found shot to death at a motel, Gwinnett County police on Wednesday arrested the man they believe pulled the trigger.

Ladarrwin Davion Copeland, 35, faces murder, aggravated assault and weapons charges in the shooting deaths of Timothy Rodgers and Ricky Johnson, Lawrenceville police spokesman Capt. Greg Vaughn said.

Johnson, 52, and Rodgers, 50, were found dead Jan. 28 outside the Crossland Studio Suites on West Pike Street in Lawrenceville. Police have not said what led to the shooting.

Copeland remains in the Gwinnett County jail without bond.

“Although Copeland has been charged, the investigation is continuing, and investigators are not releasing further details,” Vaughn said.
