Four-year-old Assata Snipes was inside her home, having her freshly washed hair combed and braided by her mother when five bullets came flying into the apartment. Her father raced outside, but was unable to catch the shooter. He didn’t realize until later that one of the bullets struck his daughter in the head.

After more than three years, investigators with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have announced an arrest in the case. Read more about the case here on our subscriber website, MyAJC.com.
