Authorities are wondering if two carjackings in the same northwest Atlanta area are connected after the incidents Monday morning.

In one case, victim Paul Sullivan was in the driveway of his Ansley Park home when armed thieves struck.

“I don’t know where they came from, because I’m very aware of my surroundings” he told Channel 2 Action News.

He got out of his car to get a weapon when one of the robbers fired three shots at him.

Though he wasn’t hit, he lost his silver Infiniti to the thieves.

“I shouldn’t even be standing here,” he said. “Honestly, I’m in shock.”

Less than an hour earlier, police said two thieves carjacked a man at gunpoint in front of the Ansley Park Golf Club. Another silver car was stolen.

“These are busy, growing corridors,” Sullivan said. “We are not safe.”

Sullivan thinks thieves may be becoming more tactical.

“When you least expect it, people coming out in the morning ... this is brave, this is savage.”
