A woman faces DUI charges after authorities say she slammed into a police car while a Marietta officer was assisting a stranded driver.

Lisa McCain had nearly twice the legal limit of alcohol in her system Jan. 27 when she rear-ended the patrol car on I-75, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The officer was helping a driver change a tire at the time of the crash. The driver and officer were not injured.

“Quite frankly, we don't stand a chance against a vehicle,” Marietta police Officer Chuck McPhilamy told Channel 2. “If that officer had been in the same vicinity where his car was parked, we would be having an entirely different conversation today.”

McCain also faces a charge of driving with a suspended license, according to the news station. She was not injured in the crash.

This is the fourth time this year a driver has crashed into a Marietta emergency vehicle, Channel 2 reported.
