Two men were arrested this week in northwest Georgia in a state drug investigation in which 14 pounds of marijuana and $127,868 in cash were seized.

Maverick Brown, 57, and Tyson Brown, 35, were arrested after a six-month investigation, the GBI said.

Agents bought marijuana from Tyson Brown’s home address in Rome, spokeswoman Nelly Miles said. GBI and Georgia State Patrol agents eventually searched that and two other locations in Rome, Miles said.

In addition to marijuana and cash, agents found packaging materials used for distribution and two guns.

Tyson Brown is charged with distribution of marijuana and trafficking in marijuana, Miles said. Maverick Brown is charged with trafficking in marijuana.

No bond has been set for the suspects.
