Five people have been arrested on drug-related charges in Jackson County after authorities seized marijuana with an estimated street value of $100,000, an official said.

Kelly Rupert, 47, Keegan Rupert, 18, Riley Rupert, 17, and Evan Malone, 27, all of Hoschton, were arrested Wednesday, Sheriff Janis Mangum said in a Facebook post. Caryn Rupert, 46, of Hoschton, was arrested Friday.

An investigation indicated that marijuana was being grown at the address, Mangum said. Investigators found 28 marijuana plants in a grow room and other marijuana elsewhere in the residence.

All the suspects were charged with possession of marijuana greater than one ounce, manufacturing marijuana, trafficking marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects, according to the sheriff.

Malone also was charged with possession of a schedule II narcotic and possession of hashish oil, Mangum said.
