Canton dismisses ethics complaint
Canton resident Anthony Potts says he’s “very disappointed” that a city ethics committee dismissed his complaint against City Manager Glen Cummins. Potts claimed that since Cummin had been simultaneously a City Council member and acting city manager, he should not have been allowed to take part in the city manager selection process earlier this year. The committee consisting of the city attorney and two Council members concluded the complaint was moot, in that Cummins is no longer a Council member, and thus not subject to the ethics ordinance.
