A wanted man was arrested Monday after Marietta police said they spotted him in a stolen Porsche, prompting a short chase.

Trontavious Deedee Tate, 22, of Stone Mountain, is accused of fleeing an attempted traffic stop and crashing the Porsche along Roswell Road. He ran away from the wrecked vehicle but did not get far, Marietta police said in a Facebook post.

Tate was found hiding underneath a trash can — with his feet sticking out in plain sight — by K-9 Apex, the post said.

In connection with Monday’s chase, Tate faces counts of fleeing police and theft by receiving in addition to several traffic citations, Marietta police said. In DeKalb, he was wanted on a charge of failure to appear in court.

Tate’s most serious legal troubles appear to be in Gwinnett, where he will face counts of kidnapping, false imprisonment, fleeing police, stolen auto, theft by taking and hit-and-run, the post said. No further information on those charges was provided, so AJC.com has reached out to Gwinnett police for more details.

Tate was booked into the Cobb County jail, where he remained Monday evening without bond, records show. It’s unclear if he will remain in Cobb to face his newest charges, or if he will be extradited to DeKalb or Gwinnett.
