A woman registered zero on a handheld alcohol breath test over the weekend. But she was still arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of something with a small child in the back of her SUV.

Sierra Jean Lindgren, 35, of Sandy Springs, struck a vehicle and the median wall while driving erratically on Ga. 400 northbound late Saturday, according to an Alpharetta police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

An officer caught up with Lindgren’s Nissan Xterra and turned his blue lights on, but the woman continued driving for a mile and a half before stopping north of Exit 13, the report states. With the officer behind her, Lindgren allegedly crossed the lane line several times, taking up two lanes, according to police.

“I asked her why she didn’t stop when she hit the other vehicle or the wall and she stated, ‘I knew I hit stuff, but I didn’t stop,’ ” the officer wrote in the report.

Lindgren said she hadn’t been drinking or taking medication, but was unsteady on her feet and couldn’t follow directions during a field sobriety test, according to police. She also had a small child in the back seat. Lindgren was arrested and transported to North Fulton Hospital for a blood test before going to jail. The results of the blood test are pending, according to police.

Lindgren, a teacher at the Goddard School in Alpharetta, was charged with DUI, child endangerment, fleeing and attempting to elude, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to maintain lane, according to police.
