A Conyers man is being held on capital murder charges in the Rockdale County jail awaiting extradition to Birmingham.

According to the Alabama news site AL.com, James Armstrong, 27, was taken into custody Thursday in a joint effort by the FBI and the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office.

Armstrong is being held in connection with a gunfight at a Birmingham motorcycle club on Aug. 31 that left two men dead. The news site reported it is unclear whether other arrests are expected.

Al.com reported that police said they were looking into the possibility that the Aug. 31 shooting was linked to the death of a Georgia man at a motorcycle club in Columbus two weeks ago.
