Cobb police are investigating a crash that killed a woman Tuesday in Mableton.
The driver of a 2003 Ford Expedition was traveling east on Veterans Memorial Highway when the vehicle collided with a 1998 Volvo S70 that was turning left onto the road from Lakeshore Drive and failed to yield, said Sgt. Dana Pierce of Cobb police.
“She was struck on the driver’s side door by the Ford,” Pierce said by email. “The driver of the Volvo died at the scene.”
Pierce identified the woman as 43-year-old Joycelyn Hunt of Mableton. Her four juvenile passengers were taken to Children’s Hospital at Scottish Rite. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, he said.
He identified the driver of the Ford as 45-year-old Deangela Clay of Mableton. She was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Grady Memorial Hospital, Pierce said.
