A teenager in Cobb County is expected to be tried as an adult after he allegedly sexually assaulted a fellow student at Wheeler High School in Marietta.

Authorities said the alleged assault happened in an elevator during school hours, according to a police warrant obtained by Channel 2 Action News. The suspect was charged with aggravated sexual battery, the news station reported.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution does not identify minors who have been charged with crimes.

It is unknown if the 15-year-old has been suspended; a spokeswoman for the Cobb County School District told Channel 2 she could not comment on disciplinary action related to specific students.

Another Wheeler student was arrested last month following an alleged sex crime on campus.
