Clayton County police on Thursday released a sketch of a man they suspect fired an assault rifle multiple times while at a child’s birthday party but also killed a teenager sitting on a couch inside a nearby apartment.

Police were called shortly after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to the Ashwood Ridge Apartment Homes in the 200 block of Upper Riverdale Road where “several people were in and around the area at the time of the incident at a celebration,” Clayton police spokeswoman JaQuitta Williams said in a statement.

Devin Jackson, 18, was not at the party but was inside an apartment when he was hit by a stray bullet, Williams said.

Anyone with information can call the Clayton County Police Department tip line at 770-477-3513.
